Okay, without wasting any more time, let's start with our discussion material today, Today's material is historical recount 🧭





🧭 Historical record meaning
History recount is a form of recount text whose contents tell historical events. In short, history recount is a historical story in English.

Like other forms of recount text, historical recount uses the simple past tense in its writing. Because what is told is an event that happened in the past.

The things written in historical stories are usually in the form of important events, historical places, historical objects, and others.

🧭 Social function of historical recount
As the name implies, the social function of historical recount is to retell historical events.

🧭Historical account structure
The structure of historical recount is the same as the structure of recount text in general, namely: 

• Orientation 
Orientation is the beginning of the historical recount. This section will help the reader to know what is in the story before going into a more detailed discussion or story. 

• Events 
Events reveal the details of the events that occurred. The events that are narrated must also be arranged in order so that the reader can better understand the chronology of an event.

• Reorientation
The reorientation section is usually used to insert a personal comment from the author about a historical event. We can also retell what is the essence of the events narrated.

🧭Linguistic elements

As with recount text, the linguistic elements of historical recount are:
+ Using past tense
+ Conjunction
+ Action verbs
+ Adverbs
+ Adjectives
